DANSES MACABRES

“Danses Macabres” transforms the gallery into a contemporary cabinet of curiosities — a space where photography, metal, fashion, ceramics, movement and live performance collapse into one immersive ritual.

This exhibition is sculptural, performative, sonic and cinematic.

THE MANIFESTO

In a world saturated with instantaneous images, produced breathlessly, “Les Danses Macabres” reassert the necessity of the handmade, of ritual, and of human presence.

The exhibition revisits the medieval tradition of memento mori through contemporary figures.

Death, omnipresent yet never tragic, dances with each of one of us: insolent, complicit, ironic. No longer merely an end, it becomes a partner revealing the vanity of our ambitions, the fragility of our certainties, and the beauty of the ephemeral gesture.

At the heart of this procession — Amor vincit omnia.

One single image escapes Death: that of love. If all returns to dust, love alone remains. It alone grants a form of eternity to our souls.

This exhibition is an act of resistance: against the dematerialization of bodies, against speed, against the dilution of images.

Les Danses Macabres celebrate uniqueness, slowness, the hand, materiality, and symbol. We are all mortal — and infinite.

ARTISTS PROFILE

PIERO GIOACCHINO

Photographer, director

Paris-based photographer and director specializing in fashion and dance, Piero Gioacchino Geremia has developed a visual universe defined by timeless beauty and rich iconographic references. His work transforms his subjects into divinities within a polytheistic pantheon, each embodying a distinct and symbolic role.

From statuary poses to moments of warm intimacy, his images seek to persuade and seduce the viewer into a suspended, timeless realm. Frequently collaborating with dancers of the Paris Opera Ballet, he captures a rare precision of movement that gives his photography and film work a singular and recognizable identity. He has collaborated with several brands and magazines, including Vogue Portugal, Kaltblut, Schon!, and most recently Numéro Netherlands, featuring the acclaimed French actress Nadia Tereszkiewicz.

Piero Gioacchino Joremia is also the founder of the artists’ collective behind this exhibition, bringing together talents such as Maria Bernad, Théo Malet, Eugénie Drion, Agnès Bouille, among others — including various performers and dancers, notably from the Paris Opera. Through this collective dynamic, he creates a shared artistic language where image, movement, fashion, and performance converge.

Maria Bernad

Fashion designer, stylist

María Bernad is a Spanish-born fashion designer and creative director based in Paris.

Her work explores the intersection of craftsmanship, sustainability and storytelling, repurposing antique fabrics and textiles into unique handcrafted pieces that give new life to existing materials while challenging the environmental impact of contemporary fashion.

Expanding beyond fashion, she is also developing a multidisciplinary practice, creating ceramic and furniture pieces by transforming antique objects into contemporary artworks.

Bernad has also begun working in costume design, extending the poetic universe of her work to stage and performance. She took part in the Accessories Jury at the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories – Hyères as a designer and sustainability consultant.

In 2019 she founded her brand Les Fleurs Studio, through which she creates garments and objects using vintage and upcycled materials, embracing a zero-waste approach with a particular focus on bridal and ceremonial pieces. The brand presents runway shows and presentations and, in 2025, joined the Official Calendar of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode in Paris.

Les Fleurs Studio has been featured in international publications such as Vogue and Elle, and has dressed artists including Beyoncé and Chappell Roan.

Théo Malet

Illustrator, graphist

Théo Malet is a Paris-based illustrator and actor whose work unfolds at the crossroads of sacred art, scenography, and the performing arts. Trained in animation cinema in Marseille, he developed an early sensitivity to visual storytelling, movement, and the construction of imaginary worlds.

Passionate about ballet and opera, he joined the workshops of the Paris Opera as an apprentice set designer, where he refined his sense of composition, dramaturgy, and symbolic space. For Malet, the set is never a simple backdrop, but a living architecture charged with tension and meaning.

Working across film, music videos, fashion photography, and illustration, he cultivates a visual language influenced by Russian iconography, 19th-century academic set painting, and traditional European illustration. Through stylized figures, dramatic light, and deep tonal palettes, his work explores the dialogue between the sacred and the contemporary, creating images that feel at once theatrical, poetic, and contemplative.

SPACE DESIGN

The gallery becomes a ritualistic archive, a sculptural chapel, a nocturnal cabinet.

Space conception

Our set design is conceived as an immersive journey, guiding visitors through a layered and sensorial experience.

On the ground floor, the largest-format works will structure the space, acting as visual anchors while elements subtly reshape the environment. This scenographic approach is designed to intrigue passersby from the outside and invite them to step in and explore.

In the basement, the exhibition transforms into a true cabinet of curiosities. Here, the artists’ creations will engage in dialogue with their shared and individual libraries of references — books, films, archival materials, objects, and personal inspirations. This intimate space offers visitors rare access to the research process behind the works, allowing them to enter the intellectual and aesthetic universe of the collective.

A dedicated projection area will showcase the short films produced exclusively for the exhibition, expanding the narrative into moving image and sound.

Importantly, this scenographic installation is designed to remain in place well beyond the vernissage, enabling audiences to discover and rediscover the exhibition over time.

Vernissage

Opening night

We Create a momentum for the opening night, transforming Robegago Gallery into a night Cabaret, with live music and live performances, we want to offer an experience rather than a simple visit.

Eugenie Drion

Dancer, choreographer, show host.

Eugénie Drion is a former dancer of the Paris Opera Ballet (2014–2025) and recipient of the 2014 Prix Jeune Espoir. She has since evolved into a movement director and multidisciplinary artist, developing a distinctive language at the intersection of body, image, and transformation.

Founder of the artistic platform Indépendanse, she has led creations and international residencies across Egypt, Lebanon, and aboard Ponant expeditions, cultivating a practice rooted in dialogue, cultural exchange, and embodied research. As muse and performer in Coddess Variation by Hermine Bourdin, she deepens her exploration of ritual, femininity, and metamorphosis through performance.

Eugénie also collaborates with the fashion house Vaillant, bringing her choreographic sensitivity into the realm of contemporary design. Expanding her artistic universe beyond institutional stages, she founded her own cabaret scene in Paris — an independent and inclusive platform gathering artists from diverse disciplines and backgrounds, where dance, performance, music, and visual art converge in a vibrant celebration of creative freedom.

In recognition of her artistic vision and leadership, she has been named among the Choiseul 200 Leaders of Tomorrow 2026.

Eugenie will take charge to create a unique perfomarce with several artists from her cabaret for our vernissage.

COMMUNICATION STRATEGY

CONTENT STRATEGY AGENDA

  • In the weeks leading up to the exhibition, we will activate a carefully orchestrated teaser campaign designed to build intrigue and narrative tension. This phase includes the release of visual fragments of our work, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and short-form video teasers announcing the premiere of the short film that will debut on opening night. Through a strategic rollout of reels and stories across multiple days, we will progressively introduce each artist highlighting their profiles, agencies, and press recognition.

With the combined visibility of our networks and previous media coverage, we project a reach of over 500K views across social platforms, establishing strong anticipation before the doors even open.

  • On the night of the vernissage, content creation becomes immersive and immediate. Dedicated video and reel productions will capture the scenography, performances, guests, and emotional atmosphere of the event in real time.

In collaboration with Karla Otto, the renowned Parisian communications agency, we will coordinate invitations and refined captions to ensure cohesive messaging and high-end positioning. Select digital and fashion commentators will be invited to report live from the exhibition, amplifying the event across their channels.

This synchronized digital presence is expected to generate over 1M views, positioning both the gallery and the exhibition as a key cultural moment.

  • Following the vernissage, we will intensify our digital presence to convert visibility into sustained attendance. Through consistent cross-platform publishing — including clips, interviews, highlights, and excerpts from the short film — we will actively invite audiences to visit the gallery.

The short movie produced specifically for the exhibition will also be submitted to the International Fashion Film Festival in Paris, extending the lifespan and international exposure of the project. This phase ensures that the exhibition evolves beyond a single evening, becoming an ongoing cultural dialogue with both physical and digital audiences.
